Logic Beach offers a line of air flow sensors for use with dry air and nitrogen. These transducers are commonly employed in compressed air systems for long term monitoring as well as during audits to more accurately understand the compressed air supply requirements and loading.
The flowmeters clamp onto a pipe, with two flow sensing probes projecting into the pipe through 3/16-in. drilled holes (clamp on drill guides are available for installation). The flowmeter seals directly to the pipe; no cutting or welding is required for installation. Because each flowmeter is made and calibrated for a specific size of pipe, the integral digital display indicates flow directly, with no setup or adjustment required.
The meter measures flow by maintaining one probe warmer than the other. It calculates the gas mass velocity from the amount of heat required, and then calculates the flow on the basis of pipe cross-sectional area. The flow rate, in scfm, is shown on a large, four-digit display. The flowmeters come with 4-20mA and pulse outputs standard as well as an optional Modbus RTU slave option permitting remote display, data collection and flow profiling with compatible data logging and reporting instruments from Logic Beach.
Two models (5200 and 5400) are available for two different ranges of pipe dimensions, The 5200 is compatible with ½” to 2” pipe and the 5400 is compatible with 2” to 6” pipe.
Drill guides are required for installation and are available from Logic Beach for the various models.
5200 Model Common Specifications:

Pulse Output (standard): 5 pulses per standard cubic foot of air (SCFM) in all meter models models. Output is an Open Collector transistor which shorts to the flowmeter negative supply. Current limiting is required to protect internal switch.
4-20mA Output (standard): Isolated analog 4-20mA current output requires external Vdc loop power for operation. Can be powered from the same supply powering the flow meter or a separate Vdc supply. Minimum of 9Vdc is required (burden) across the 4-20mA terminals for operation.
Modbus Output (optional): Modbus RTU Slave via RS-485 (2-wire) allowing for multiple meters to be networked to a single IntelliLogger data logging and reporting instrument. Factory option, specify at time of order.
Wetted materials: Stainless steel, gold, thermal epoxy and Viton (seal)
